About Franklin Studios
Franklin Studios is owned and operated by five partners deeply rooted in the commercial production industry: Antony Packer, Kevin Parker, Marcus Fung, Jeremy Drummond, and Josh Alkoff.
Access to the Studio
Upon confirmation of your booking, & receipt of your COI, you will receive a comprehensive information email containing all necessary details. Additionally, you'll be provided with a unique access code granting entry through the rear entrance of the studio. Please note, our standard access point is through the rear, via the back-alley entrance and loading bay. Should you require access through the front entrance, kindly inform us in advance, and we will Try to accommodate your request.
Booking Cancellations
If you need to cancel your booking between 7 and 30 days before your scheduled time, we can refund 50% of your fee. However, refunds aren't possible within a week of your booking due to high demand. Rescheduling within 7 days incurs a $300 re-booking fee. All rescheduled bookings must occur within 3 months of the original booking Date. Thank you for understanding.
Garbage and Recycling
EAch Booking is Entitled to two garbage bags, Anything additional will incur an extra removal fee.
Handling Custom Requests
Hosting Events
Event hosting is considered on a case-by-case basis, ensuring the space is treated with respect and responsibility. We require detailed information regarding the event, including the number of guests, purpose, and alcohol consumption. Selling drinks requires a liquor license, which we can assist in securing for an additional fee.
Included Gear
Every booking includes full access to our extensive grip package, detailed in our inventory linked HERE. Additionally, you'll have access to our lighting grid, ladders, props, furniture, and kitchenette. If you require lighting, we have an in house package that you can find HERE. We also have cameras, projectors, & smoke machines, please email for more information.
Insurance + Liability
Before booking with us at Franklin, please review and sign our waiver form. In addition we will also require you to have a COI (Certificate of insurance). this ensures you're educated about our policies and recommendations regarding the space, equipment usage and liability.
Negotiating Booking Fees
Understanding that every project is unique, we strive to accommodate varying budgets on a case-by-case basis. Particularly for first-time renters, we are flexible with our fees.
Parking
Your booking includes two reserved parking stalls located at the rear entrance of the building, marked with 1885 Franklin Street signage. Larger vehicles can unload and park in one of the two loading bay stalls. Additional parking options are available upon request.
Using Equipment
Operating the lighting grid and podcast equipment is straightforward, but we recommend familiarizing yourself with them beforehand. Instructional videos are available here.
